The Life Design Project can become a life long journey.   Every leg of the journey takes between one and two years.  This six week introduction is akin to a flyover.   It isn’t the journey – but you can see where to go after you land.   Here is the schedule for the next six weeks.   Make sure you download the journal before you start.

Week One:   Guardrails & Discernment

This is about spiritual formation, accountability and honesty.  All of that can be dangerous.    We have seen much of what goes wrong, either traumatically, or just time wasting.

How do you know when you are on the right track?  What about all those voices in my head?    My perfectionism, laziness, drivenness?      My secret fears about this stuff?    My imposter syndrome?

This session will provide increased confidence that you really do have a part to play in the grand, global mission of Christ.    Also that you can understand more about the existing work of God in your life – and allow yourself to enjoy it.

Week Two:  Rule of Life Foundations

Ancient and historically proven pathways to take responsibility for our own formation, decide where we want to go, who we want to be, get intentional and make the first tentative steps.  We will share 11 key principles and 2  Mind Maps.

Week Three Rule of Life – Five Pillars

The mechanics of the Rule and the practicalities of how to write one.   During this session you may begin drafting your own rule.

Week Four – Small Tables – Concept and principles

How to recruit people you enjoy to join you on this journey.  A structured approach to “building each other up”.  NB  We follow the requirement of the Master.  This is not a challenge.  It is “easy” and “light”.

Week Five –  Small Tables – the journey together.

How to build a genuine discipleship community that holds its mission and formation focus.  How do we hold the focus on transformation.   How do we avoid getting lost in a comfort zone.    How do we not become just another Christian cocoon.

Week six  –  Alternate Orientations to Community and Spirituality.

What makes church “church”.    What do people think of when they hear the word?  How do we define it ourselves?   How the New Testament world and ours are incomparable, and why that matters.   Does Church need to look like the way we all do it?

Am I allowed to ask my real questions?   What if I come up with answers no-one else approves of?
